Hayle
Hayle (Cornish: Heyl) is a small town, civil parish and cargo port in Cornwall, England, UK. The parish was created in 1888 from part of the now defunct Phillack parish, with which it was later combined in 1935, and incorporated part of St Erth in 1937. The modern parish shares boundaries with St Ives to the west, St Erth to the south, Gwinear and Gwithian in the east, and is bounded to the north by the Celtic Sea. The town, whose name derives from the Cornish heyl, meaning estuary, is situated at the southern end of St Ives Bay on the estuary of the Hayle River, approximately 6 miles south-east of the town of St Ives by road.

Phillack
Phillack is a settlement in the west of Cornwall, UK, that, since 1935, has fallen within the boundaries of the Hayle civil parish. The origin of the name Phillack was traced in the 17th century to the Irish Saint Felicitas, who is said to have founded Phillack church in the 6th century AD, but a 10th century Vatican codex mentions a Saint Felec of Cornwall, who may be the dedicatee and is believed to have lived about the same time.

The Towans
The Towans is a stretch of coastal dune land near the town of Hayle in Cornwall, UK. It comprises Mexico Towans, Upton Towans, and Gwithian Towans. Upton Towans was the site of an explosives factory in the late 19th and early 20th centuries giving it the alternate name Dynamite Towans. It is now a nature reserve.
